It is one of life's delightful ironies that a hurricane comes to town and knocks out electric power for thousands just when the Fred Beans Family of Dealerships is in the midst of planning an event that touts the advantages of owning and driving electric vehicles.
Really, what are the odds?
But the great news is this: Fred Beans is going ahead with the E-Cars Expo this Saturday, November 3, from 9am to 3pm at the Chevrolet dealership, 845 N. Easton Road, Doylestown 18902.
Here are the details:
The E-Cars Expo is open to the public, no charge. This is an educational event that will provide information about electric cars’ advantages and the science behind them, as well as details about federal grants to owners of some new e-cars that fund the purchase of home charging stations.
“This event is much more than just looking at the new electric cars,” says John M. Kachmar, certified Nissan Leaf specialist at Fred Beans Nissan of Doylestown. “It truly is an ‘expo’ with various stations offering literature, displays, working models – and experts with answers to your questions.”
Licensed drivers will be invited to test-drive the 2012 Nissan Leaf, 2012 Chevrolet Volt and 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV on a short local course, and the showroom set-up will include a Tesla Roadster. Also on display will be the Blink Charging Station.
Presentations and presenters include
“Owning an EV,” Oliver Perry, president of Eastern Electric Vehicle Club
“The EV Project,” Paul Heitmann, Utility Solutions Development for Ecotality / Blink
“Driving America Green,” Michael L. Craner, co-founder of Renew America Road Trip
“Solar Power for Home & Vehicle,” Advanced Solar Industries
“E-Cars Roundtable” with Leaf, MiEV & Volt owners
Refreshments will be served.
