County 911 System Experiencing Problems [Updated]
The county 911 system is facing difficulties Wednesday morning after problems at the Hatboro Verizon exchange.
Wednesday, 8:50 a.m.:
The county 911 system has been restored, according to Fox 29 and the Philaldelphia Inquirer.
Wednesday, 8:35 a.m.:
All calls to the Bucks County Department of Emergency Communications in Ivyland are being rerouted to a back-up facility in Doylestown due to a technical issue.
The problem is linked to the Hatboro telephone exchange and is mainly affecting landlines in Ivyland, Warminster, Warrington and Upper Southampton, a county communications supervisor said.
Verizon is working to fix the problem, which began at 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, the official said. As of 8:30 a.m., officials were not sure when the system would be restored.
Calls to 911 from other parts of the county are being routed through the Allentown phone exchange, the official said.
The supervisor said that dispatch operations are being handled out of the county's Ivyland facility, but all 911 calls are being answered at the back-up facility in Doylestown.
Dispatchers ask that those who have trouble with the 911 system reach emergency operators by using the follow numbers: 267-718-5785, 215-828-4643, 215-828-3040 or 215-828-3067.

Can someone update this article. There are still many business, residents who cannot work or make calls due to this Verizon issue. It's 2:00 now and systems have been up and down all day. Horsham schools received a district email that this is affecting Montgomery, Lower Moreland, Upper Moreland, Horsham, Cheltenham, Abington counties too.
Thanks.
