ABC Replaces Doppler Radar in Warminster
The local news station promises sharper, high-definition images with the updated technology.
A massive crane went to work Tuesday morning as crews replaced 6ABC's Doppler radar that sits atop the giant tower on Eagle Boulevard, at the grounds of the former NADC in Warminster.
One of the technicians said that the new radar will generate sharper, high-definition images and can better pinpoint regional weather forecasts.
WPVI started replacing the 20-year-old technology in May when crews upgraded the hardware in the tower, topping off the project with Tuesday's activity.
