Bucks County Seeks Elections Officials

Bucks County is hiring election officials for May municipal primary.

The Bucks County Board of Elections announced today they are accepting applications for residents to work as election officials for the municipal primary election, which will take place on Tuesday, May 17.

Duties for election officials include opening and closing the polls; setting up voting equipment; registering and signing in voters; canvassing absentee ballots and recording vote totals.

Election officials work approximately 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Election Day. Training is provided in advance.

 In order to be eligible for an election official's position, a person must:

1) Be a registered voter;

2) Be able to read, write and speak English; and

3) Attend a training class.

To the extent possible, election officials will be assigned to the polling place at which they are registered. To access an on-line application to become an election official in Bucks County, please visit the Election Officials page.

The last day to register to vote for the May 17 primaries was yesterday. May 10 is the last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot and May 13 is the last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted civilian absentee ballots.
