Eagles Star Brent Celek Speaks to Students at Willow Dale

Willow Dale Elementary School won the rally through the Fuel Up to Play 60 "My Breakfast Promise" contest.

Greeted by close to 500 students, Philadelphia Eagles tight end Brent Celek made a surprise visit to Willow Dale Elementary School Wednesday afternoon.

Celek spoke to the students about eating healthy, being active and showing respect.

The school was the Philadelphia area grand prize winner of the Fuel Up to Play 60 “My Breakfast Promise” contest.

“Vegetables are good for your body and you need your body to be healthy,” Celek told the excited students.

Celek told the students they need to give 110 percent to everything, including eating healthy and exercising.

Celek said to the students that when he was growing up his mother would not let him sit in front of the television if the weather was nice out. She made him go outside and be active, a message the 26-year-old passed on to the young audience.
David Crooke, of Crooked Acres Dairy Farm in New Hope, spoke to Celek and the students about running a dairy farm and the benefits of a low-fat dairy diet.

Achieving a health diet and exercises was not the only topics; respect for others was also discussed.

“Doing good in school is not just getting A’s. It’s respecting your teachers, parents, and classmates,” Celek said.

After a short Q&A session, the other grades left the auditorium and Celek showed the fofth graders some simple exercises they could do at home.

“Now that a football star spoke to me I want to eat better and be like him in girl form," said 10-year-old Brianna Broccardo.

Steelers fan Nick Selige, 11, said, “I want to start eating healthy and exercising so I can be big and strong like Brent.”
