Early Spring, Flower Show Make Us Think Green

The Philadelphia International Flower Show in full swing on the heels of a mild winter means a lot of folks are thinking about their garden.

We've hardly had any winter and already the thermometer will be near 70 before the week is over. That has a lot of folks thinking green, especially in their garden.

WHYY's Marty Moss-Coane dedicated an hour of Radio Times yesterday to our good weather fortunes, featuring two gardening experts who spoke about taking advantage of the unseasonable warm weather (you can listen to the show here).

Of course, the Philadelphia International Flower Show is in full swing through Sunday. You can check out one Patch blogger's photo gallery of some of the exhibits. You'll also find a lot of photos on the show's Facebook page.

Speaking of the flower show, CBS Philly reported that three Pearl Harbor survivors checked it out yesterday, appropriate since the Hawaii-themed event includes a replica of the USS Arizona, lost in the battle.
