  • The Hartsville Fire Company will dedicate its new 9/11 memorial Sunday at 6 p.m. It will be followed by its memorial service at 7 p.m.
  • The German VE Club is celebrating its annual Oktoberfest on Sunday, Sept. 11, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. For a $6 donation, attendees will be treated to a day of music, food, drinks and plenty of activities for the kids.
  • The William Tennent football team travels to CB West for a game tonight at 7 p.m. The Archbishop Wood team hosts its home opener tomorrow at Tennent's Claude Lodge Field wth a 7 p.m. game against West Catholic.
  • It was certainly a wet one yesterday, and it could rain again this afternoon with a high near 83, according to the National Weather Service.
  • On this day, September 9, 1956, Elvis Presley appears on the Ed Sullivan Show for the first time.
