Get Out Weekend Planner for Jan. 27-29

Help improve a park, or teach a dog how to read.

 

This will not look like a winter weekend, so take advantage of this unseasonably beautiful weather and get out and do something.

JRUE HOLIDAY AUTOGRAPH SIGNING

Where/when: 263 Marketplace, 700 York Rd., Warminster, 3:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

Why go: Get an autograph from one of the rising stars of the Atlantic Division leading 76ers.

Price: $15 per autograph.

FUN NIGHT TO BENEFIT KOHLER PARK 

Where/when: Saturday, 7 p.m., Comedy Cabaret, 625 N. Main St., Doylestown

Why go: The Rotary Club of Horsham is hosting the night of laughs with proceeds benefiting upgrades to Kohler Park.

Cost: $20

READING GOES TO THE DOGS

Where/when: Saturday, 2 p.m., The Union Library, Hatboro.

Why go: Kids from K-5 will read to therapy dog volunteers - they love it! And it’s a great confidence builder for reluctant readers.

Cost:  Free

FREE LAUGHS AT THE THEATRE

Where/when: Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 8 p.m., Mitchell Performing Arts Center, Huntingdon Valley.

Why go: "Enchanted April" is a “gentle” comedy based on four women’s lives in post-WWII London.

Cost: Free

FREE BIG BAND MUSIC

Where/when: Sunday, 2 p.m. – 6 p.m., Parx Casino, Bensalem.

Why go: It’s big band music. It’s free. What else can you say?

Cost: Free

FREEZIN' FOR A REASON

Where/when: All day Saturday, Neshaminy State Park, Bensalem.

Why go: Hundreds of people will jump in to the frigid Delaware River to benefit the Special Olympics. Come chill out – literally!

Cost: Donations gratefully accepted!
