Ivyland Postpones Trick-or-Treating to Saturday

The borough continues its cleanup efforts following Hurricane Sandy.

Ivyland Borough Mayor Charles Ritter has confirmed via e-mail to Patch that Halloween trick-or-treating has been postponed to Saturday, 2-5 p.m.

It is the latest of a slew of Bucks County townships and boroughs that have moved Halloween festivities to allow emergency management crews time to continue cleaning up the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and work on restoring power to the more than 50,000 Bucks County residents without electricity.

Warminster and Warrington have also moved trick-or-treating to Saturday, 2-5 p.m. Northampton and Newtown townships have moved to next Wednesday, Nov. 7.

Warwick has not made an official declaration since it held a community event on Oct. 25. Residents are only asked to use their best judgment if they decide to go out tonight.
