A 13-year-old Garrett Hill girl, who went missing Monday afternoon, was found by U.S. Marshals in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday.
With her was Ashley Ryan Hareford, 20, who Radnor Police said met the girl online and traveled to Pennsylvania from Virginia.
Radnor Township received an anonymous tip that the pair were arriving on a Mega Bus in Washington, D.C. around 7 p.m. Tuesday. Hareford was taken into custody without incident, said Lt. Christopher Flanagan.
"Our top priority to make sure she's in good mental and physical condition," he said.
The girl is being evaluated by medical staff and will be interviewed by police. She may return home tonight.
Hareford is facing a Corruption of a Minor charge from Radnor from online information gleaned by police. More charges may be added.

Why wasnt her parents monitoring her cell phone or her laptop if this has been going on. Where is the parental control at??? Praise God she seems to be safe!!!

There are so many issues with the Nov 27th meeting....vague agenda that had no votes / decisions identified on any of the line items and impact on local private kindergartens not studied (loss of jobs, revenue & tax revenue). This seemed like an opportune time for the wrong people to make a land-grab when nobody was looking....and they did.

Kids are very saavy and even when parents monitor carefully they delete text messages, change passwords, have multiple screen names, delete history etc. Even highly vigilant parents can be unaware with how quickly the kids can adapt to the changing technology and how fast adolescents can maneuver around parental control. It is scary but to just blame parents is way to simple. This kind of horror happens every day to good and bad parents. The real issue is what is going on in this child's life. Kids make poor decisions for all kinds of reasons, this one is a doozy that could have cost her in ways that are incalculable. I hope they get to the bottom of that.

Very well said Cathy. This is not so much a reflection on the parents as it is technology and society in general. As parents we can be involved in their lives and look at their Facebook pages, even review email but we cannot be with them 24 hours a day and if there is a will there is a way. Fortunately this story had a happy ending as it easily could have been tragic.

Even though she's a minor I agree with posting her picture, I posted it on Facebook, I don't know her but if I knew what she looked like I could be on the look out. Her safety is the most concern and the sooner she is (was) found the better. I hope she is alright and wasn't sexually involved, she has her whole life ahead of her and it would be sad if this incident ruined her life. As a parent of three now grown girls had this happened I'd want as many eyes looking as possiblw for a safe return. I'm glad they found them both so he can face charges and she can return home.

Her mother may have been there before the police press conference, but afterwards I only saw her father. Perhaps she didn't feel up to speaking to all of the cameras.

Maybe the mother was so distraught she couldn't be interviewed, maybe she isn't involved with the child or family, maybe she is deceased ... this is a horrible thing that happened and it was a combination of poor judgement on the child's part as well as a real creep that was lurking on line and in her neighborhood. Let's give the parents a break and be thankful she was found and returned home quickly.

Don't be so quick to judge the kid as a creep. Take a peek at his facebook and you can simply just tell there is something wrong with the guy...but I wouldn't go labeling the schmuck a predator...just dumb.

The most heartwrenching thing about this for the parents .. is the dad was quoted as saying that his older daughter, too, ran away from home at some point in the past.
