Phillies Fan Snags First Place in Contest

Two weeks worth of votes have been counted and the winner of Patch's Greatest Sports Fan Contest has been chosen.

After two weeks of voting in the comments, Patch's Greatest Sports Fan Contest has ended and the votes have been tallied. And the winner of one of five greatest sports fan prizes is No. 31!

User Michele Conboy submitted the photo of a boy with the Phillies Phanatic, which scored 42 votes. The winner will receive a $240 Stub Hub gift card courtesy of Patch that can be used to purchase tickets to a sporting event.

The voting results show that our readers have a love of all Philadelphia sports, with the grand prize winner representing the Phillies, but the runners-up paying homage to other Philly teams.

The photo with the second most votes—totaling 21—was photo 19. The photo submitted by Josh Leiber is of a boy decked out in Eagles gear at the Lincoln Financial Field. Then in third place, photo No. 2 captured a family of Flyers fans prepping for the playoffs. This photo received ten votes and was submitted by reader Jamie.

Earlier in April, Patch asked readers to submit photos of the greatest sports fan. After the photos were submitted, a number identified each picture in a photo gallery. To vote, readers left a comment choosing which photo showed the greatest sports fan. All voters were allowed one vote per day, and voting ended at 9 a.m. on April 30.

For a full list of rules, see the PDF document in the media area of this story.

Thanks to our readers for taking the time to submit photos and vote and congratulations to the winner.
