Out of control! Having weapons drawn, combing through a neighborhood based off of what? A tip that there maybe a domestic dispute and some one my own a gun? We should not jump to these levels cause thats when fear take in and mistakes happen and people may get hurt just because of miss information. I could understand if they new a armed robber was there or what not but this is not the case.

Police Carry weapons and they should, Nick. Rifles, handguns whatever. I dont feel the need to Monday morning quarterback, but I guess you do. Why is this even news???? Did you know that anyone can walk down a public street in PA with a Rifle, handgun or shotgun without having a permit provided they have not been convicted of certain crimes? PA is an "open carry state". Permits are only required for concealed carry. Well they can...so the police obviously can. How the patch finds this is actually news worthy is beyond me!

I'd have to wonder how much the Bucks County dispatching center had to do with this. Historically they are pretty worthless.

What a joke Ivyland is, turn your heads, lets pretend crime doesn't happen in this little happy place, forget it is surrounded by Warminster.

Ivyland is lucky to have a well trained police department surrounding it. If there was actually an armed subject who wanted to do harm it may be to late if the officer are not proactive and take the proper steps before encountering the potential threat. Any call that involves a gun should be dealt with seriously until as in this case it is deemed not to be a threat. I would rather the officers respond professionally, have the right equipment to take action in the case that it is needed and hope that they dont have to take the drastic action. As it is said, it is better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it. Great job to Warminster PD for supporting the small boro of Ivyland and helping in what at the time appears to have come out as a potentially armed subject with unknown intentions. Thank you. The rest of you if you havent done Police work or understand what it is to respond to an unknown situation where there is a potential that some will try and do harm to you or those around you, and the decision you may have to make in usually made in a split second, please do not monday morning quarter back. You wouldnt ask the home owner in the middle of the night who heard noises down stairs to first go unarmed and check to see if it is nothing or potentially an armed burglar who wants to do you harm, it may be to late at that point. Better to carry a big stick and not need it then need it and not have it in this situation.

I have respect for the officers but let's be honest the bucks .county have nothing better to do but run every ones tags and they are so cocky the police I give mad respect for is Philadelphia police they actually laugh at the county cops I think all county cops need to have a taste of real policeork and work in the city Badlands before they even become any officer anywhere

While Warminster and other suburban police may not deal with what Philly cops do on a daily basis they are real police officers. I have dealt with police in Philly as well as several areas in Bucks and Montgomery County. Some are good, others are jerks...no matter where they are
