Parents everywhere are giving their children a taste of the real world today by taking advantage of the annual Take Your Son/Daughter to Work Day.

The day was originally established as Take Your Daughters to Work Day in 1993, to encourage young women to explore more career opportunities. The program was expanded in 2003 to also include the sons.

If you are from the Warminster area and have one of your kids at your side today, post some pictures to this article and share your experience in the comments section below.

A newspaper I used to work for did a really nice job on Take Your Daughter to Work Day. The kids had a whole tour of the newsroom, production department and printing press, then they got to compile and print their own newspaper.

I actually had my daughter to work with my last friday (She is preparing for her spring concert at Tennet tonight so couldn't take off) .. She was my student teacher with our children. She did a science project with the kids with food coloring, water and carnations and read one of her childhood favorite stories. She LOVED being the classroom with the younger kids.. It was a really fun experience for her and for all of us as well.
