What fool actually puts in a contract that we will inform you that your being investigated before we investigate. Nothing like giving someone the chance to destroy evidence, intimidate witness, and/or skip town. Another glaring reason why this board needs to be dismantled.

That is like saying they are coming to get you so hurry and get rid of everything or get out quick which he got out quickly and no response from anyone

The school board is a total mess, The whole thing sounds shady. I agree with the above comment about the contract. Let's all remember this is all under the leadership of Dr. Pollack. Come this election he needs to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are STUCK for another 4 years with him. Attend the meeting on 9/13 and let him know these next four years won't be comfy because WE ARE WATCHING. We're going to conduct an investigation of him and we're going to tell everyone!

Concerned, Pollack needs to go NOW and not wait until next election. He was just re-elected. The whole board needs to go! They are a disgrace to this school and this community. Can't wait until the board meeting on 9/13!!! I will let Pollack use my pen to sign his letter of resignation.

Reinboth is the one that signed the contract, not Pollack. I agree that Pollack needs to resign, but it looks like Reinboth has some explaining to do too.

Maybe that is why Reinboth is not seeking re-election

Reinboth was the president at the time of Turnbaugh's hire. Pollack is the guy who told Dr. Dunar to ignore the advances of Dr. Turnbaugh and tried to have her withdraw her complaint. Pollack is now Board president; he must resign. One by one, they all must go. Time for a clean sweep. Incidentally, was the former short-term superintendent (Masko??) also given a similar ("tell me when they're investigating but don't tell anybody else") clause in his contract? And does anybody really know why he departed so mysteriously and quickly too?

Jack,
The article 'Burned by a Kiln' discusses a few of the details surrounding Masko's departure from Centennial.

Interesting article, thanks for posting the link. Not surprising that Jane Lynch's name once again appears in a negative situation. Not only does Pollack need to resign so does Lynch. She obviously has abused her position numerous times and they are finally coming to the light of the entire community. How many other times has she used her ego and influence to the detriment of others? Graceful exits for Lynch and Pollack, although I doubt either will do so, they cannot see past their own noses.

Here is something noteworthy I found in comparing Turnbaugh's contract with Centennial versus the one he had with his prior employer, Trinity SD. First, we (CSD) jumped his salary from $116,000/yr to $168,000/yr -- a 44.8% increase. We increased his vacation time from 4 weeks/yr to 5 weeks/yr. We allowed him to carry over 100 days' of sick time from Trinity even though Trinity paid him for that accrual when he left under a dubious cloud. News reports of his departure from Trinity show that he did the same "double dip" on sick time when he left his prior employer, Bentworth, by carrying over an incredible 239 sick days to Trinity while also cashing them out at Bentworth. That is approximately a year's salary. He also left Bentworth under questionable circumstances. When he left Trinity, the district had accumulated massive debt from building a new high school stadium and four new grade schools.Does any of this sound familiar? My question for the CSD Board: if I can find this out with simple Google clicks, why couldn't your Personnel and/or Search Committee find it in background checks?

P.S. The part of the contract where the Superintendent must be informed of all investigations prior to their undertaking, a right to respond, and a secrecy clause all exist almost verbatim in the Trinity contract. Google it. We welcomed this guy with open arms -- why?? CSD Board: Do your jobs! Quit whining when you are criticized!!

Pete, you don't think this matters? How about this -- Turnbaugh left Bentworth in a sudden resignation after a "secret room" was discovered in the high school, where drug paraphernalia, pornography, a knife, duct tape and stolen gym mats were found. Turnbaugh did not disclose even to the police that a knife was found in there. Prior to his time with Bentworth, he spent 18 months as superintendent of the Sto-Rok School District. By the time he resigned from Sto-Rok the debt was so massive that the state took over the school district operations and replaced all nine members of the School Board. Hmmm. Yogi Berra said it best: "It's deja vu all over again." Maybe the state needs to step into Centennial?

Now this is messed up...someone is using my name and posting. This can be proven by clicking on my name and the one with the comment from 11:37am today and you will see they are TWO DIFFERENT ACCOUNTS!

I wonder who would do such a thing...must be someone at the district or the township who doesn't like the things I have posted...

Jack, I agree with what you have written above about Turnbaugh and his contract. I want to thank you for taking the time (evidently more then the CSD was willing to take prior to hiring). You are right on the money here.

Jack,

As a new resident in Centennial and trying to figure thing out I appreciate the info you posted. It just shows how the Board is totally out of control with reguards to spending. Our taxes reflect their actions. When they approve a New teachers contract after the business manager states we will be in debt of 12 million at the end of the contract and they still approve it you know they have no financial concern for us the taxpayers. I wondered why people were not upset about this months ago and a tiny turnout at the school board meeting ?

Dear Concerned 123,

Small turnouts at the school board meeting are reflective of the disrespect with which residents are treated at them. I attended one where armed policemen were escorting people out. You are never given enough time to make your points or ask your questions. You have 2 minutes to state your case or ask a question, and then the question is not answered. I'm old enough and have been a long time resident of this community to know that this did not happen overnight. The animus shown by the Board to the residents is outrageous. They forge straight ahead with tax-and-spend, or is it spend-and-tax, with total disregard for the fiscal hole that exists. Warminster's demographics are changing. Senior citizens are the majority here, and enrollment is dwindling. My neighbors and I live in homes built in the 1940s and I remember the day that Warminster was known for its low property taxes. This CSD administration thinks that gives them a right to play catch up. Now, those like me who live on SS fixed income will soon be forced from their homes. When the CS board was told this, they said to show them one senior who was forced from their home. Maybe not yet, board members... but they're cutting their meds in half, turning thermostats down in the winter and up in the summer, going without new things, and eating up all their savings so YOU can put a "safer" roof over students' heads and rent out the "unsafe" schools to BARC and IU kids. What a world!

You are right on the mark here Jack. I too have witnessed the appalling lack of respect the CSD Board has for the residents who come to the meetings, treating them like the kids they are supposed to be teaching and providing a safe environment for. Of course there are a lack of people at the Board meetings. Who would continually subject themselves to that sort of treatment? As a result, the taxpayers are reliant on the reporters to accurately update everyone as to what is going on... With the exception of the Patch websites, this has not worked out too well.

Mr. Krenshaw, someone is also spoofing my posting name. I believe as you posted, someone in the administration or board member do not appreciate that their sham has become transparent. I thank you for your information and those of us that read your posts can tell the difference between your educated posts and the uneducated comments made by the fool pretending to be you. I look at it as 'imitation is a form of flattery' and the fool could only wish for one iota of your intelligence and knowledge. Post on, we know the difference.

We need to stick together on this. My goal is to inform people about what I know and hopefully together we can make a difference in our community. Our local government has been hijacked by individuals with a perceived higher self worth and they have been taking advantage of our community. It needs to end. There have been supervisors and school board members, school administrators and staff who have abused their power at our expense. I have said it before and will say it again, know who is running for office and vote for the person. Stand up and speak at the township meetings and at the school board, make your voices heard and demand appropriate action.

Wonderful sentiments. However we all know that speaking at the board meetings is worthless. They interupt us, and then cut us off at the end of 2 minutes. We have all been told on numerous occassions that regardless of our concerns, this board is going to do what THEY feel is best. They believe that they are the HIGHER power and can do whatever they want. They changed the dollar amount that is required for referandum by the community. They continually understate the total dollar amount of contracts and EVERY meeting approve contract adjustments. Can anybody even tell us how much the total final cost of the High School really was?! They can't be fired. They have destroyed our community schools, left us piled in debt, and facing 3 lawsuits. Now all of the rats are jumping off of the sinking ship. The best we can do is make sure that anyone who is runnning after being on this board for over a year is NOT RE-ELECTED.

I just moved in the district right before the new teachers contract vote . I was shocked the way they just throw the taxpayers money around when I was at the meeting. In this economy I could not believe the things the board approved in their contract. Do they ever say no to the teachers?????? It was my first and it was alot to take in. In my opinion this Board has a lack of financial responsible toward's us the taxpayers. Do they not understand their is no money to pay for all of this? I was surprised he was re elected. Did anyone run against him?

The way I see the role of the School Board is they have a responsibility to provide education to our children in a safe environment and they are to be financial stewards to the taxpayers. That's it.

Pollack has a lot of friends in Anne's Choice and he was able to win both the Democrat and Republican primaries making him it for region 2. Lucky us.

I want to know whom the School Board members answer to? I understand they are elected officials and (kind of) report to the voting public but there should be more! Aren't there checks and balances for the School Board? Even our own federal government has that! Whom can we report their misconduct to?!?! I have written to each of our government officials for Warminster and only got a response from one person. It wasn't very encouraging. I haven’t found much helpful information on Pennsylvania’s Department of Education website. We clearly know that “making our voices heard” at the school board meetings is not very productive.
I wonder if the people living in the Centennial school district can sue them for misuse of power and negligence?

Unfortunately the SB answers to nobody. The only way to remove them is to 1)vote them out or 2) sue them to have them removed. Apparently all the lawyers in Ivyland, Upper Southampton, and Warminster feel it will cost the Distrist more money to sue the SB, so nobody wants to sue them for mismanagement. Every time we try to vote them out, the manage to worm their way back in. The only success we had was when Mike Hartline was voted onto the board. The PA Dept of Ed states it is up to the individual counties to control their boards. Short of finding a lawyer who isn't a friend of the board, we are out of luck.
