The Warminster Fire Department held an open house at its station on Madison Ave. last night at 6:30 p.m. Young visitors had the chance to climb into one of the trucks and check out the equipment the firefighters use to enter smoke-filled homes and buildings.

Other activities included a firehose simulation, a stop, drop and roll mat and a mock steel door that firefighters used to demonstrate how they enter locked rooms with heavy doors. Outside, a section of the parking lot was roped off for a demonstration of how the firefighters extinguish a car fire.
