Weekend Planner: Dog Walk, Painting Fundraiser and Poker
Looking for something to do this weekend? Here's a great place to start.
Where/when: Warminster Community Park, 300 Veterans Circle, Warminster, Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Why go: Bring your family, friends, and your dog to Warminster Community Park for an entire morning of food and family entertainment. Proceeds benefit Gilda's Club.
Cost: $30 per leash
Where/when: The Uncorked Artist, 1414 Old York Rd., Warminster, Saturday, from 7 to 10 p.m.
Why go: Bring some friends, some food, a bottle of wine (or your favorite beverage) and have a relaxing evening out, sipping, snacking & painting. Half of registration fee will benefit Kisses for Kyle Foundation. The painting will be a version of Andy Warhol's Pop Daisies. A little ladybug will be added onto each painting so that each time you look at this hanging in your home, you can be reminded of the fun time you had helping to battle childhood cancer.
Where/when: Sertino's Cafe, 234 Veterans Way, Warminster, Sunday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Why go: Sertinos Café is now a proud Sponsor of the Aardvark Poker Tour. They are hosting free to enter no limit Texas Hold'em tournaments every Sunday afternoon.
Where/when: Village Players of Hatboro, 401 Jefferson Ave., Hatboro, opening night Friday at 8 p.m., runs on weekends through Oct. 19
Why go: The lighthearted comedy revolves around the event that is the annual golf tournament between Quail Valley and Crouching Squirrel Country Clubs.
Where/when: Davisville Church, 325 Street Rd., Upper Southampton, Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Why go: This fun event will raise funds for the Milliken family. Melanie is engaging in a courageous battle against uterine cancer. Show your support and love for her, Jay, and the boys by coming beside her in this battle as a group! The costs associated to treatment, transportation, loss of employment (for Melanie since she needed to leave her part time job), etc., are mounting.
