What Would You Improve in Warminster in 2013?
If you could make a New Year's resolution for your town, what would it be?
More than 45 percent of Americans make a resolution every year, according to statisticbrain.com. Some people vow to live a healthier lifestyle, others promise to spend more time with family, and many say they will try to save money.
As millions of Americans make resolutions to improve their lives, what could we do right here in Hatboro and Horsham to make them even better places to live?
What is on your Warminster wish list? What is one thing you would improve in 2013?
Tell us in the comment section below or blog about why you love living here!

Stop building SO many (Philadelphia type) Row Houses (townhouses, retirement houses whatever you call them) leave the few wooded areas, that are left, alone.

Fix the broken police office who sits at the intersection in front of WTHS and doesn't direct traffic, who sits in the patrol car on cold or foggy or wet mornings making the cars battle themselves trying to make a left turn onto Centennial Road driving towards County Line Road. The only good reason for having the officer there is if someone gets in an accident, he/she doesn't have far to walk.

Lets try and build a new Township, Police Station our building is a disgrace. Look at surrounding townships. Try using an existing building within the township. Why worry about the WREC center? The PD is open 24/7 make sense???

PLEASE consider speed humps on Evergreen Ave..the speed limit is 25, but NO ONE does that speed

or, a stop sign at every corner would discourage people from using Evergreen as a cut-through

Do something about the derelict properties throughout the township. For example the vacant Getty station at Newtown & County Line and the vacant lot at Newtown & Street. Iam sure there are more but I pass by those everyday. Leveling Lacey park would be nice also.

How about keeping up with the abandoned houses within the township. Maybe license and inspection should be spending their time making sure people with in the township are following the ordinances. Such as grass cutting, abandoned vehicles, and pest control (rats).

I'd fix the school system. They are badly in need of redoing. I don't think that's possible given the current Board leadership, so maybe I should pick something more realistic like fixing the timing of the traffic lights at Centennial and County Line, or Centennial and Street Roads.

Do something with the government houses that have been abandoned around Jacksonville Naval Base! These houses are just sitting there with so many people in the areas that could be using them as temporary shelters. It's wasteful of the government and just maybe someone from the townships can get into discussions regarding the use of these shelters.

Make the former Longstreth School into the WREC center or demolish the building and leave the area as open space, (this township is getting so boxed in) instead of the rehab center that they are planning to put in there in the middle of a residential area.

Great idea!!! I would love to see this building used for some sort of community center. An open space or even a playground would be an improvement for the neighborhood.

Is that for certain or will the developer be able to get a waiver and build whatever will bring them the most revenue if he pays enough to the township?

I gree with Tricia about the Shenandoah Woods Townhome neighborhood that has been abandoned since March 2011. Why can't these homes be sold to people who would make it their primary homes? Doesn't the towship own them now? Sell them for $100,000 each and allow new residents to form a homeownwers association. No HUD, no township demolition costs, but a real neighborhood where people can buy the homes cheaply, pay taxes and take pride in their accomplishment and home. The township could raise needed funds from the sales and increase tax revenue. Come on Warminster Twp, make it happen!

I understood Shenandoah Woods structures to be unfit for habitation...the buildings are falling down and need to be torn down. The BRAC process is also very specific on how the property is to be reused. I do agree it will be nice to see the area redeveloped and hopefully we can see it happen sooner rather than later.

Shenandoah Woods structures were deemed to be unfit for habitation but it was still good enough for military families but not up to the standards of section 8 housing.
What does this say about our government? Those who serve should be greatful for a roof over them but those who contribute nothing will get better housing for free.

Longstreth was already looked at for use a new recreation center but it was in too bad a shape to make it happen. Instead it was bought along with Leary by a developer...done deal. At least they are zoned residential so there is no way a rehab center will go in there.

Remove No Turn on Red at Mearns Road intersection at Street Road. That was a dumb idea to begin with along with closing of the shoulder lane. At least shoulder lane to turn was opened a while ago.
