Centennial Bus Driver Wins Safety Competition, Ivyland Bonfire Saturday

  • Larry Hannon, bus driver for Centennial School District, once again competed in and won the “Road-e-o/Safety Competition” held July 20 and 21 in Tulsa, Okla. Larry has been a professional school bus driver for 37 years. He has competed in 29 International Safety Competitions and won first place in eight of them. He has also won first place 20 times at a local level and eight times on a state level.
  • More than 500 volunteers gathered at Central Bucks South High School in Warrington on Sunday to pack 100,000 meals for hungry children across the globe. The event, hosted by the Minnesota-based Feed My Starving Children nonprofit, was called a MobilePack, and volunteers ages 5 to 85 donated their time to pack simple and high-protein meals.
  • Ivyland Borough is hosting its annual Halloween Hayride, Bonfire, and Weenie Roast this Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at the Ivyland Commons.
  • Sunny with a high near 71, according to the National Weather Service.
