Banshees Win USSSA in Allentown

The Banshees Red travel softball team, behind strong pitching and a weekend-long offensive onslaught, won the 14-team 2013 USSSA Glow in the Park WSQ tournament held in Allentown on October 26th and 27th.

The Banshees were a perfect 6-0 on the weekend and were seeded first after Saturday's games. The Banshees lucky number on Sunday was "11" as they defeated the ESA Avengers (11-0), the Forks Thunder Gold (11-4) and the East Brandywine Impact (11-7) in the championship game held at Patriots Park in Allentown, under the lights. Both Forks Thunder and East Bradywine were undefeated on the weekend until they met up with the Banshees Red.

Tessa Prushan helped bolster the Banshees pitching staff on Sunday as she returned from injury and appeared in all three games. Pictured with their championship trophies (left to right, ground) are Shannon Stewart, Logan Cummings, Kyleigh Dinnien, Casey Taylor, Brittany Hubler, and Katelyn Clark. (Second row) Sierra Mosiniak, Maddie Fisher, Allyssa Slovensky, Tessa Prushan, Tori Hagendorf, and Elayna Tsiouplis. Coaches in rear are Mike Stewart, Jim Taylor, Mike Mosiniak, Joe Dinnien, and Rich Clark. The Banshees Red, comprised primarily of girls born in the year 2000 are always looking to add talented players.
