Hatboro's National Night Out is Friday, August 9th

The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce and the Hatboro Police Department are pleased to announce co-sponsorship of Hatboro's 2nd Annual National Night Out on Friday, August 9, 2013, from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. This free, family-friendly event will he held in the Hatboro Municipal Parking Lot on Moreland Avenue, behind McMackin Tire Service, which is located at 2 South York Road, as well as Hatboro's downtown business district.

"We cordially invite Hatboro businesses, civic groups, community organizations, local officials, and area residents to join forces with thousands of communities around the country to participate in the National Association of Town Watch's 30th National Night Out program," says Greater Hatboro Chamber President Joseph J. Tryon, Jr.

The National Night Out organization states, "National Night Out is a night for communities nationwide to promote police-community partnerships, crime prevention, and neighborhood camaraderie. While the one night is certainly not an answer to crime, drugs and violence, National Night Out represents the kind of spirit, energy and determination to help make neighborhoods a safer place year round."

Games and prizes will provide a fun and educational evening. Attendees are welcome to stop by the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce table to enter raffles for prizes. Hatboro's Police Chief James Gardner will announce the winner of the 2013 Annual Hatboro Holiday Parade Theme Contest at 8 p.m.

In addition to the event sponsors such as Diverse Technical Lines (DTL), participants will include the Enterprise Fire Company, Thunderbird Lanes, Montgomery County District Attorney Detective Unit, Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, Eastern Montgomery County SWAT, the Hatboro YMCA, Hatboro-Horsham School District, the Hatboro-Horsham Robotics Team, the Warminster Police Canine Unit, representatives from the US Army, and the Boys Scouts of America. Folks from State Senator Stewart Greenleaf's office, and Representative Thomas Murt's office, as well as staff from B101 Radio, will also be on hand to welcome everyone.

The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce, located at 120 S. York Road, Suite 6, in the Red Barn Mall, hosts special and annual events to support area businesses, both large and small, including the Halloween Stroll, Holiday Parade and Moonlight Memories Car Show.
