McDonald Elementary students discover Navajo Ways

Some of the 5th grade students at McDonald Elementary discovered Navajo ways and their connections to the area during the annual "The Navajo Connections Learning Event" on October 25th. Mr. Joseph Pisacano, a present day Centennial School District, 5th grade teacher, who previously spent years teaching and working on the Navajo Indian Reservation near Window Rock Arizona returned this summer to the reservation to reconnect with former students (now in their 40's) and families to learn of their successes in life and where they are now. Mr. Pisacano shared with the 5th grade students at McDonald his experiences, adventures and many artifacts he acquired while working and learning with the Navajo children. National Native American Heritage Month begins on November 1, 2013.
