Actress Turned Nun, Swim Lesson Signups This Week

Check out what's happening around town this week.

  • Centennial's ad hoc District Land and Property Use Committee meets at the school district administration building Tuesday at 7 p.m. The purpose of the committee is to review the unused properties owned by the district, such as the former WREC Center, and determine their feasibility.
  • Wednesday at noon is the deadline to sign up for swim lessons at Log College. The lessons start Monday, July 22 and last until August 9.
  • Nativity of Our Lord hosts a book signing by Dolores Hart, a former Hollywood actress who gave up the silver screen to become a cloistered nun. She will sign copies of her memoir at Nativity Thursday night at 7 p.m.
  • The Warminster Board of Supervisors meets Thursday night at 7 p.m. at the township municipal building on Gibson Road. The agenda includes presentations from the Johnsville Centrifuge & Science Museum and the Warminster Soccer Club.
  • Stop us if you heard this one before: It's going to be hot this week. From the looks of things by the National Weather Service, it's going to be the hottest week yet for this summer. It starts with 94 degrees on Monday, hits 96 on Wednesday, then goes back down to 94 on Friday.
