What's going on around town today.

  • William Tennent kicks off its two-day Black and White Night with competitions in the school’s pool. About 500 students on two teams will battle over the next two nights in events such as synchronized swimming and relay races.
  • The Warminster Board of Supervisors meets tonight at 7 p.m. The agenda includes further discussion about installing a traffic light at County Line and Norristown roads.
  • Flyers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky will be signing autographs at the 263 Marketplace on Sunday, 2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. The cost is $25 per signed item.
  • The U.S. Census statistics show that Pennsylvania’s overall population since 2000 has risen 3.4 percent, with a .6 percent rise in Philadelphia residents. The Hispanic population has grown by 83 percent, and the Asian population has ticked up by 59 percent.
  • Space shuttle Discovery made its final landing yesterday morning at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. After 39 missions and spending more than 365 total days, the 30-year-old spacecraft is being retired, along with its sister ships Endeavor and Atlantis.
