What's going on around town today.

  • The William Tennent Girls Cross Country team and Boys Basketball team have won the Sportsmanship Awards from the Suburban 1 National Conference for the 2010-2011 season.
  • Tonight is Log College Spirit Night at Chick Fil-A in Warrington. Let the cashier know you are there on Log College’s behalf because 10 percent of sales will go to the school.
  • The Bucks County Parks and Recreation Department is looking for volunteers to help out at this year’s Senior Games. Taking place at various places throughout the county, the Senior Games are 22 events, including golf, tennis, bowling and badminton, open for competitors over 50 years old.
  • Governor Tom Corbett released his preliminary budget for the 2011-2012 fiscal year yesterday. The $27.3 billion budget includes no new taxes, but deep cuts to education and the elimination of 1,500 state jobs. 
  • The mansion that many scholars believe served as the inspiration of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby has been marked for demolition. The property in Long Island, N.Y., will be replaced by five housed priced at $10 million each.
