Get Out: Weekend Planner Dec. 3-4

Lots of holiday events happening in the area this weekend.

How did December get here already? How can we be expected to go from 65-degree days to preparing for Christmas? Guess we’ll have to figure that out starting this weekend. In between your shopping and merry-making, take some time out for yourself.

Where/when:  auditorium, 333 Centennial Rd., Warminster. Friday at 8 p.m.

Why go: Works from Berlioz and Beethoven will be combined with holiday favorites for a festive evening.

Cost: $20/adults; $8/students with ID.

Where/when: Historic Craven Hall, 599 Newtown Rd., Warminster. Sun. 3-5 p.m.

Why go: Guests will enjoy genuine Victorian hospitality as they dine on finger sandwiches, cookies, pastries and, of course, tea.  Tea will be served in this gracious mansion, which will be decorated in full holiday splendor. Presentations by period-dressed guides and music will add to ambiance of this lovely event. All guests are encouraged to wear their holiday finest.

Cost: $30.

Where/when: Actually, there are two events here. The first is Saturday at 8 a.m. at the ; that’s the  feature Santa. The other is a  at the , Saturday at 8 a.m.
Why go: You need to eat before hitting the shopping trail, right? So you can hang with the big Elf himself or help out a Boy Scout troop at the same time. Win-win!
Cost: The Kiwanis event is $7 for adults and $5 for kids. The Scouts say – name your price (donations as you wish).

HOLIDAY GIFT & CRAFT MARKETPLACE 
Where/when:  in Richboro, Friday, 5:30 p.m.
Why go: There will be more than 50 vendors, a caricaturist, raffles and a gold buyer. And you can support the local economy by buying from small, local businesses.
Cost: Free!

Where/when: Armstrong Middle School, 2201 Street Rd, Bensalem, 9 a.m. Saturday
Why go: The 6th annual tournament benefits underprivileged kids in the township. Plus, it’s dodgeball!
Cost: Admission is one new toy per player or spectator

Where/when: , Street Road, Trevose, Saturday at 9 a.m.
Why go: Enjoy .
Cost: Bring a toy to fill Santa’s sleigh. Also, adults and kids over 10 are $6, kids 5-10 are $5 and kids under 5 are free

Saturday, 11 a.m. at the , Feasterville
Why go: Kids ages 8 - 13 will bake different kinds of cupcakes and have fun using various frostings, fillings, and your very own secret ingredients. At the end of the class parents are invited to judge and sample the yummy treats that their children made.
Cost: $5 

Where/when:  Saturday, 7 p.m. at Why go: Seven local bands will rock out at an event headlined by D & M.
Cost: $8

Where/when: Saturday 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. at , 85 Holly Drive in Levittown
Why go: Step back in time with period music, Dolly Madison, hearth cooking, Santa and lots more.
Cost: $5, kids under 16 are free

BREAKFAST WITH SANTA

Where/when: Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., 1 N. Penn St., Hatboro

Why go: All you can eat breakfast, plus meet and greet with jolly Old St. Nick.

Cost: $5

HOLIDAY SHOPPING

Where/when: Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at , 435 Babylon Road, Horsham

Why go: Get a jump on holiday shopping while benefitting the library’s programs.

Cost: Depends on what you buy.

PET PHOTOS WITH SANTA

Where/when: Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at , 971 Horsham Road, Horsham
Why go: Even doggies want to meet Santa!

Cost: $10 for each photo or two for $15

HOLIDAY MUSIC

Where/when: Saturday at 7 p.m. at , 32 N. York Road, Hatboro
