Heavy Rain, Flash Flooding Possible Thursday

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the region. The National Weather Service says the afternoon commute could be impacted with heavy rain and flash flooding.

We are likely in for some heavy rain and possibly flash flooding Thursday, according to forecasters. A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the region, including Bucks, Montgomery and Chester counties as well as Philadelphia.

The National Weather Service said the watch is effect from noon until late Thursday.

Heavy rain will be possible with thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service. Rain rates could be as high as one inch per hour, which could lead to flash flooding.

“The afternoon commute today could be impacted by heavy rain and flash flooding in some locations,” according to the National Weather Service.

Impacted areas include: Berks County, Delaware County, Philadelphia, Chester County, Montgomery County and Lower Bucks County.
