Memorial Day Parade Marches Through Warminster

Warm weather brought out the crowd to cheer on marching bands, boy and girl scout troops and firetrucks as they made their way from the township building to the VFW.

There was lots to see and enjoy as Warminster's annual Memorial Day Parade marched through town.

This year's festivities started with a reverent ceremony with featured guest speakers State Representative Tom Murt and Master Sgt. John Lyon, a performance by singers from Nativity of Our Lord Church and a proclamation by Leo Quinn, the chairman of the township's board of supervisors.

The family of fallen police officer Brad Fox, including his wife, parents and K-9 partner, Nick, walked the parade as the grand marshals, earning appreciative applause from the crowds lining the route from the township building on Henry Avenue, to York and Street roads, and finishing at Louis Drive.

Between the fistfuls of candy thrown from cars and golf carts, the parade's onlookers were treated to some music from the MacGregor Pipe Band, the South Philadelphia String Band and the William Tennent marching band.
