PennDOT Starts Smoothing Bumpy County Line Road

After months of replacing water main pipes, the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority has finished its portion of the project, and PennDOT has started work on repaving the seven mile stretch of road.

Bucks County motorists can rest easy that the end is near for the lane restrictions and bumpy drive on County Line Road as the water main replacement project comes into the final stretch.

According to Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority spokesperson Patrick Cleary, his department's portion of the project will end after crews finish on a final section located just west of Jacksonville Road in Warminster. He expects the work to be completed Wednesday, ending an eight-month long process to replace seven miles of water main that began in October.

Since the winter weather and temperatures do not allow asphalt to properly set, the BCWSA crews have used a cold patch to cover up each finished portion, creating a bumpy and uneven commute between townships.

It is now up to PennDOT to replace this temporary fix with the real deal by milling and repaving County Line. The trucks have already started with night time work performed between Second Street Pike and James Way in Upper Southampton, closing that section completely between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

When that is finished, PennDOT will turn its attention to repaving between Centennial and Valley roads. The daytime work will cause more lane restrictions. Cleary predicts the road will be completed and ready by the end of June, beginning of July.
