Weekend Planner: Living History at Craven Hall

There's something for every taste all around the area this weekend.

This weekend literally offers something for everyone – two-legged community members and their four-legged friends. From crafts, pooch rescue and special bargains, to creamy treats and eye-opening theater, this weekend offers a plethora of activities. 

Here are some options:

MEET LIVING HISTORIANS

Find out what's happening in Warminsterwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where/when: Craven Hall Historical Society, 599 Newtown Road, Warminster, Friday at 7 p.m.

Why go: You can meet some of the men and women who helped the American cause during the Revolution and the War of 1812 during this first person living history program.

FALL 2012 BOOK SALE

Where/when: Warminster Township Library, 1076 Emma Lane, Warminster, Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Why go: Check out a large selection of books and help raise money for the library.

Cost: Free to attend

 

Where/when: Hatboro’s downtown shopping district along York Road, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why go: Borough merchants will offer special discounts and crafts will be on display for the annual event, which also features live entertainment and a pet rescue fair in front of Hatboro Baptist Church, 32 N. York Road.

Cost: Free

TASTE FROYO 

Where/when: Yo Fresh, 314 Horsham Road (Giant shopping center), Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

Why go: Sample Horsham’s newest frozen yogurt offerings, plus participate in hourly gift card raffles, giveaways and more.

Cost: Free to attend, cost for food.

STAGING ‘ADDICT’ 

Where/when: Hatboro-Horsham High School, 899 Horsham Road, Horsham, Friday and Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Why go: Performers will stage the one-act play,  in conjunction with the district’s substance abuse awareness initiative, “Be A Part of the Conversation.” The eye-opening play is a must-see for parents of school-aged kids.

Cost: Free 

RUN FOR SCHOLARSHIPS

Where/when: Hatboro-Horsham High School, 899 Horsham Road, Horsham, Saturday beginning at 8:30 a.m.

Why go: The second annual Team EC/RN run and walk benefits the Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation and provides scholarships for local graduates.
