'Under the Dome,' Starring Tennent Grad, Renewed for Second Season

The CBS show premiered to big numbers in the beginning of the summer, and will return for a second season next year.

William Tennent alumnus Mike Vogel won't be escaping Chester's Mill anytime soon, not after CBS announced the renewal of the hit summertime series Under the Dome for a second season, TVLine.com reports.

The show is an adaptation of a Stephen King novel, about a small town in New England that gets trapped under a mysterious, transparent dome. Since it premiered to more than 13 million viewers, it has averaged more than 10 million viewers each week.

Vogel, who graduated from Tennent in 1998 and has starred in films such as The HelpCloverfield and Poseidon, stars in the show as Dale Barbara, a stranger to the town with his own dark secrets.

The 13-episode second season will premiere next summer.
