Warminster Producer Scores Grammy Nomination

Children's performer Steve Pullara's new album compiles anti-bullying songs from a wide slate of performers, including Steven Van Zandt and Blue October.

Last week's Grammy nominations featured the usual household names in the top categories, such as Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga. If music fans look further down the list, however, they will find a relatively unknown name whose Grammy-nominated album tackles an all-too-familiar subject.

Warminster-based producer and performer Steve Pullara and co-producers Jim Cravero, Patrick Robinson, Kevin Mackie and Gloria Domina earned the 2011 best children's album nod for their work compiling the CD All About Bullies...Big and Small, a family album that includes anti-bullying songs such as Blue October's "Jump Rope" and "Town of Round" by Barry Louis Polisar.

Pullara told phillyburbs.com that he was in shock over the nomination. When the winners are announced on Feb. 12, he will find out if All About Bullies defeated the other nominees, including Are We There Yet? by the Papa Hugs Band, Fitness Rock & Roll by Miss Amy, GulfAlive by the Banana Plant and I Love: Tom T. Hall’s Songs of Fox Hollow by various artists.
