Bucks County Youth Experience Special Summer Tennis Events

Two BCTA teams represented the county at the USTA Jr. Team Tennis program Five-County Philadelphia Area District Championships in the 18-and-under division. The Racquet Scientists qualified from the fall 2012 league and the Racquetters qualified from the spring 2013 league. The teams finished 4th and 6th, respectively, in their division at the championships.Also, BCTA Jr. Team Tennis players, who participate in five-week practice-and-play sessions throughout the year, were also invited to “BCTA Night” at the Philadelphia Freedoms World TeamTennis match at Villanova Pavilion—including an autograph session with tennis and human rights legend Billie Jean King. The evening began with a variety of family activities sponsored by Radio Disney and Bucks County youngsters joined the evening’s ball-kids to form the welcome “tunnel” and gave high-fives to the team players as they were introduced for the professional matches.
