'Jerseylicious' Star Launches New Hair Products at Warminster ShopRite

The Warminster supermarket was the first stop in Gayle Giacomo's hair product launch tour, which will be sold exclusively at ShopRite.

Visitor's to the ShopRite of Warminster got a little taste of New Jersey Friday morning when they were greeted by Gayle Giacomo, star of the style Network's reality show Jerseylicious. Her appearance kicked off the launch of her personal line of hair care products that will be sold exclusively at ShopRite supermarkets.

"This something my husband and I had wanted to do for a long time," said Giacomo. "When he passed away, that didn't happen. Now, I wanted to do something special with the fame the show has given me."

According to Giacomo, the GG Gatsby Hair Care Collection is a high quality product that is available at the right price. The line of shampoos, conditioners and hairsprays uses a formula that helps the hair within, said Giacomo.

"So many products out there use a lot of alcohol," said Giacomo. "We don't do that. I fully believe in this line, and I think it is perfect for the everyday consumer."

Giacomo took over management of the Gatsby Salon in Green Brook Township, N.J., in 1998 following the death of her husband, Danny. After a multi-million dollar renovation and the hiring of new employees in 2009, the salon became the focal point of the reality show Jerseylicious, which aired for five season on the Style Network.

The trademark Jersey personalities shined through every episode as Giacomo and her employees managed the salon and their personal lives. With each passing season, Giacomo saw her popularity rise, both nationally and in her day-to-day life.

"I'll be shopping at the supermarket wearing a hat and glasses," said Giacomo, "but people still recognize me and come up to talk to me. It's a little strange that they know so much about my personal life, and I've never met them before."

With the sale of the Style Network to Esquire, the show's future remains up in the air. Footage is still shot for upcoming episodes, but a new network has not yet been announced. According to Giacomo, Brave, E! and Oxygen networks have all expressed interest.

Fans like Monica Polo and Kathy Huckins of Warminster will be eager to see the new episodes return to their television.

"She always looks so good," said Polo, who was first in line to meet Giacomo. "I love the drama on the show."
