Noise Complaints Threaten Warminster Hookah Bar

Township officials have filed suit against the Blue Eye Hookah Bar after receiving numerous complaints over noise and customer behavior.

Only a few hookah bars are located in Bucks County, and if the owner of the Blue Eye Hookah Bar isn't careful, there may be one fewer.

Phillyburbs.com reports that Warminster Township representatives have filed a lawsuit in county court seeking to have the bar declared a public nuisance. If 23-year-old owner Bilal Aledibi does not comply with the township's demands to control the noise and behavior of patrons, he could be forced to close the business located at 64 Evergreen Ave.

Township Manager Rich Manfredi told phillyburbs.com that the township has asked Aledibi numerous times to solve the noise issue, but the complaints from neighborhood residents have continued. According to the article, Aledibi is considering closing earlier and serving coffee and tea.

As reported last year in Patch, Aledibi opened the bar in November 2011 after being introduced to the hookah while a teenager living in the Middle East.

“It’s a Middle Eastern style of relaxation,” he said of the practice, which is often done in large groups. “It’s laidback.”
