Patch Read of the Day: Hatboro First Friday Gets New Life

The local chamber of commerce has revived the monthly street festival, with one minor twist.

Residents of Warminster who enjoyed traveling to Hatboro for its monthly First Friday events should be relieved that the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce is bringing it back. Ony this time, it is being renamed Second Saturday.

According to , the new, arts-centric street festival begins April 14, tentatively from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Chamber representatives and police officials agree that the Saturday afternoon setting will go a long way toward cutting down on rowdy teens loitering about, one of the big reasons First Friday was discontinued.

“My personal opinion is kids come out on Friday night, First Friday or no first Friday,” Impact Thrift CFO and Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce vice president Al Chagan told Hatboro-Horsham Patch. “I don’t think they’re going to come out on Saturday afternoons.”
