Doylestown Hospital begins a new community outreach program with a medical concierge service in the Warminster ShopRite.

Remember when supermarkets used to sell, well, food. Now they have, banks, pharmacies and in the Warminster ShopRite, a medical concierge service.

Located across the isle from ShopRite’s in-store pharmacy, the new community outreach program called “Health Connections by Doylestown Hospital.”

It opened Sunday conveniently located for residents in the Warminster Town Center ShopRite, 942 West Street Road.

Doylestown Hospital’s Healthcare Concierge will staff the location, interacting with customers, coordinating onsite screenings and displays and generally helping members of the community connect with appropriate health services in the area.

“The partnership with the Cowhey Family ShopRite of Warminster is an ideal opportunity to make health information accessible and personal for the prevention of illness, and to help residents find appropriate care when the need arises,” said Scott S. Levy, MD vice president and chief medical officer of Doylestown Hospital.

Doylestown Hospital regularly schedules health screenings, lectures and awareness programs at the main Doylestown campus as well as the Health & Wellness Center in Warrington. Still, according to the hospital, a recent Community Health Needs Assessment identified unmet needs for health promotion and education for a broader segment of our community.

The survey suggested the need to offer screening and educational programs at additional locations in the community, including retail locations.

And that is how Health Connections by Doylestown Hospital was born in ShopRite.
