Seniors Helping Seniors® of Bucks County Raises $5000 for Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s

For the fifth straight year, Seniors Helping Seniors® of Bucks County organized a team in support of the annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s that took place on November 10 at Citizen’s Bank Park in Philadelphia. In addition to walking with a team of over 20 members, the organization collected more than $5,000 in donations, surpassing the amount raised last year by $700.

The Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk To End Alzheimer’s is the largest national fundraiser in which every dollar raised is dedicated toward research, education and services for those currently caught in the web of Alzheimer’s/Dementia. Proceeds from the event benefit Alzheimer’s research and programs that enhance the care and support of individuals suffering from Alzheimer's, their families and caregivers.

Barbara Marte, owner of Seniors Helping Seniors® of Bucks County organizes the team every year and was overwhelmed by the support her team receives from friends, colleagues, caregivers and local businesses. “I am passionate about doing everything I can to help eliminate this devastating disease,” said Marte, “While I have not personally experienced the pain of having a family member with Alzheimer’s, my work has brought me into contact with many who either have the disease themselves or have a spouse, family member or dear friend who does.”
