What's going on around town today.

  • With the state’s deadline for budget submission quickly approaching, the Finance Committee of the Centennial School Board has called a special meeting for Monday, April 25 at 7 p.m. to discuss the options for making the numbers work, Upper Southampton Patch .
  • Warminster supervisors reversed the firing of police officer Zak Jackson and accepted his letter of resignation instead, phillyburbs.com reports. By turning in his resignation, Jackson can now keep his pension and health benefits through the end of the year.
  • The Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement will canvass Bucks County from May 23rd – 27th, as part of its efforts to ensure Pennsylvania’s dogs are licensed, vaccinated and safe. State law requires that all dogs three months of age and older be licensed by Jan. 1 of each year.  The fee is $6.45 for each spayed or neutered dog and $8.45 for other dogs. 
  • Firefighters from 34 states are now in Texas battling blazes that, over the past two weeks, have destroyed 170 homes and scorched 1 million acres, CNN reports.
  • On this day, April 20, 1999, two teenagers kill 13 people and injure 24 before committing suicide at Columbine High School in Colorado.
