What's going on around town today.

  • Prosecutors will not seek the death penalty against Domingo Lopez Negron for the 1973 shooting that the Bucks County District Attorney says led to the 2009 death of Joseph Kwiatkowski.
  • Five men were cited by Warminster police for disorderly conduct following a fight outside the Penguin Pub early Saturday morning. Angel Caraballo, 24, of Warminster, John Alvarez, 22 and Oscar Carranzo, 23, of Gardenville, were cited on charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness. Salvador Carranzo, 19, of Gardenville, and Juan Montano, 20, of Pipersville, were also cited for underage consumption along with charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
  • President Obama announced his re-election bid for 2012 today with a video message on his website. CNN reports that his first re-election fundraiser will take place April 14 in Chicago.
  • Southwest Airlines will cancel about 100 flights today as they continue inspecting its entire fleet of commercial planes. A plane taking off from Phoenix and headed for Sacramento, Calif., had a hole ripped open on its roof mid-flight, causing the passenger cabin to lose pressure. The pilot made an emergency landing in Yuma, Ariz.
  • On this day, April 4, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated by James Earl Ray in Memphis, Tenn.
