What's going on around town today.

  • Centennial School Board unanimously to give Upper Southampton Township full control of Tamanend Park in exchange for $300,000 and some concession regarding the construction of the Region 1 school.
  • More than 750 pinwheels have been planted on the corner of Almshouse Road and Route 611 by the Bucks County Children’s Advocacy Center and the Bucks County Children and Youth Social Services Agency to raise awareness of child abuse.
  • The William Tennent softball team will host Council Rock South today at 3:30 p.m. The Panthers’ baseball team will travel to CR South for a 3:30 p.m. match-up.
  • CBS reports that House Republicans are pushing for a vote today for a one-week extension of the current continuing resolution that is keeping the federal government from shutting down during budget negotiations. The new bill will include the full budget for the Pentagon and cuts to domestic programs.
  • On this day, April 7, 1940: Booker T. Washington becomes the first African American depicted on a U.S. postage stamp.
