What's going on around town today.

  • The Centennial School Board meets tonight at the district at 7 p.m.
  • Stay tuned to Lower Southampton Patch for coverage of the Neshaminy teacher strike. There's photos, video and interviews with all the players.
  • According to Weather.com, there will be some clouds in the morning will give way to mainly sunny skies this afternoon with a high around 50 degrees. Overnight, there will be clear skies with a low near 30 degrees.
  • The New Hampshire GOP primary is under way. While most polling places in New Hampshire don't open until early Tuesday, the first votes were cast just after midnight in tiny Dixville Notch, CNN reports. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and former Utah Gov. and former ambassador to China Jon Huntsman tied for the lead with two votes each. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Rep. Ron Paul of Texas had one vote apiece. President Barack Obama received all three votes in the Democratic primary.
  • On this day, January 10, 1946, the first General Assembly of the United Nations opens in London. Fifty-one nations are represented.
