  • Discount ski tickets are available in the Warminster for area resorts.  Buy tickets before you go, avoid waiting in line and save money. Tickets are available to Jack Frost/Big Boulder, Camelback, Spring, Elk, and Blue Mountain, etc. Unused tickets are not refundable. Tickets may be purchased with cash or charge (no checks), Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.  Call (215) 443-5428 for info.
  • Archbishop Wood's boys basketball hosts a game tonight against Bishop Shanahan High School at 7 p.m.
  • Mostly sunny with a high near 43 today, according to the National Weather Service.
  • A west Florida boy is in critical condition after a bullet apparently fired skyward during a New Year's celebration went into his head, authorities told CNN Sunday. The 12-year-old boy, Diego Duran, was sitting in the front yard of his Ruskin, Florida, home watching fireworks around 1 a.m. Sunday when he fell to the ground, bleeding from the nose and eyes, Larry McKinnon of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said Sunday in a statement.
  • On this day, Jan, 2, 1777, American forces under the command of George Washington repulsed a British attack at theBattle of the Assunpink Creek near Trenton, N.J.
