What's going on around town today.

  • The meetings for the Warminster Board of Supervisors have been moved from the second and fourth Thursdays to the first and third Thursdays of the month, beginning with tomorrow's meeting at 7 p.m.
  • The Centennial Operations Committee meets tonight at 7 p.m. at the distirct administration building. On the agenda are project updates and change order requests for the high school and elementary school construction.
  • There's a slight chance of snow showers this afternoon with a high of only 27 today, according to the National Weather Service.
  • Mitt Romney defeated Rick Santorum in Tuesday's Iowa caucuses by eight votes, the state GOP told CNN early Wednesday, clinching what appears to be the closest-ever margin of victory in a Republican presidential contest. Ron Paul finished a close third, according to the state GOP. Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who placed fifth, said late Tuesday that he would return to his home state to consider whether his campaign would continue.
  • On this day, January 4, 1958 Sputnik 1 falls to Earth from its orbit.
