What's going on around town today.

  • At the township board of supervisors meeting Thursday night, representatives for the WaWa at Davisville and County Line roads offered a preliminary plan for expanding the store, redesigning the parking lot entrances and installing gas pumps. 
  • The Johnsville Centrifuge and Science Museum will host a special celebration of John Glenn's 90th birthday and the anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing at the museum, 780 Falcon Circle, Sunday at 2 p.m.
  • Sunny skies this weekend with highs in the 80s, according to the National Weather Service.
  • Rebekah Brooks, former News of the World editor and chief executive of News International, has resigned in the wake of the phone-hacking scandal, News International told CNN. Brooks, who was editor at the time of some of the most serious allegations against the newspaper, has been under pressure to step down since the scandal broke.
  • On this day, July 15, 1910, the name for Alzheimer's disease is given by Emil Kraepelin, after his colleague Alois Alzheimer.
