What's going on around town today.

  • Warminster Day is just around the corner. Volunteers are urged to sign up and help with managing parking, set up, refreshment booths and amusements for the event, which takes place Sept. 10, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Warminster Community Park.
  • Registration is also open for the second annual Miles for Kyle 5K Run/Walk, taking place at  on Sept. 11 at 7:45 a.m. Early registration for adults cost $25, $5 for children, with proceeds going to the Kyle Quinn Memorial Scholarship.
  • A man was struck by a train Monday night in the vicinity of where  in Hatboro took place last month, police confirmed to . The man, who authorities have not yet named, survived the 8:20 p.m. crash and was taken to an area hospital. Authorities were unable to provide a status on his condition, or detail his injuries.
  • Libyan and U.S. officials say the two governments held face-to-face talks in Tunisia over the weekend, but Washington says the sole point of the meeting was to repeat its demand that Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi "must go," according to a report from CNN.
  • On this day, July 19, 1983, the first three-dimensional image of the human head is published using a CT scan.
