  • Residents are encouraged to attend a joint meeting at 7 p.m. tonight at the administration building between the school board and the Warminster Board of Supervisors to discuss the status of Leary, Longstreth and the WREC Center.
  • Jurors at the upcoming trial of Domingo Lopez Negron will not hear that another man allegedly pulled the trigger in the 1973 shooting that left a Warminster man paralyzed, and now has Negron facing murder charges 38 years later, phillyburbs.com reports.
  • Sunny and very hot with a high near 97 today, according to the National Weather Service.
  • Texas inmate Mark Anthony Stroman was executed Wednesday night for killing a man from India during series of revenge shootings after the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, CNN reports. Stroman was put to death at 9:53 p.m. ET, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice told the network.
  • On this day, July 21, 1925, John Scopes is found guilty of teaching evolution in his Tennessee classroom and fined $100.
