  • Patch, the hyperlocal news, information, and community arm of AOL Huffington Post Media Group, today that it will launch 33 new sites in New Hampshire, Iowa, and South Carolina – the first three states to hold primaries in 2012. In addition, Patch has announced the launch of the first Patch Military site: Camp Pendleton Patch.
  • Former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has acknowledged that he fathered a child with a member of his household staff. According to MSNBC, it's a revelation that apparently prompted wife Maria Shriver to leave the couple's home before they announced their separation last week.
  • On this day, May 17, 1792, the New York Stock Exchange is formed.
