  • The Henry W. Ray Special Experience Room in will host a presentation during the 2011 Middle Atlantic Planetarium Society conference on Friday morning. After a demonstration of the room’s dome capabilities, the delegates will travel to the sit of the newly arrived centrifuge capsule on Bristol Road.
  • Big Heads in Warminster is celebrating Cinqo de Mayo with a fiesta from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Specials include $3 Corona and Corona Light bottles and $5 shots of Patron.
  • According to the Advertising Specialty Institute (ASI), located in Trevose, companies selling promotional products with a patriotic bent are super-size sales this week as news of the death of the 9-11 terrorist fueled nationalistic fire.
  • To keep power coming to the people of Bucks County, PECO has invested $19.7 million in its Warminster substation located at 400 Park Ave. near the SEPTA train station, phillyburbs.com reports. As part of this investment, PECO installed two new transformers and four new circuits and constructed a building to house substation equipment.
  • On this day, May 5, 1961, Alan Sheppard makes history as the first American to travel into outer space.
