  • Artist Thomas Kinkade's death last month was from an accidental overdose of alcohol and Valium, the Santa Clara County, California, medical examiner told CNN. Kinkade, 54, also suffered from hypertensive and atherosclerotic heart disease, said the autopsy report released Monday.
  • On this day, May 9, 1974, the United States House of Representatives Judiciary Committee opened formal and public impeachment hearings against President Richard Nixon.
