  • Warminster Parks and Recreation is putting on a Halloween magic show at the WREC Center Sat. Oct 23 at 1 p.m. Tickets cost $5 for adults, $3 children ages 2-10. Come in costume and get a $1 discount.
  • Archbishop Wood's girls varsity soccer team hosts a showdown with Germantown Academy at 3:45 p.m.
  • Looks like an end to the nice weather today. A chance of rain and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. with a high near 65, according to the National Weather Service.
  • Shortly after his $447 billion jobs plan stalled Tuesday in the Senate, President Barack Obama vowed to break the broad initiative down into numerous, separate bills -- potentially setting up even more showdowns between Democrats and Republics on how to boost the economy and where to get the money to do so, CNN reports.
  • On this day, October 12, 1901, President Theodore Roosevelt renames the Executive Mansion as the White House.
